Mortals, when they...pass are judged. A total tally of their sins and follys. It's not like preachers would have you think but the process still happens. The sweet hereafter- a perfect world created just for you. Blissful happiness.
Unless you promise your soul to another- like one would to a demon. The demon in question gets to do what with that soul what they'd like. Which most of the time means you're dragged down to one of the circles of hell.
What you're talking about...is the most extreme version of that. You would never find that peace in the false God's realm. And you would be one of the courts of hell. You would be changed...
