[ He's tempted to not leave it there but he knows John enough by now that some things weren't good to push him on. ]

All right. I'll place some food outside your door for you later.

[ ugh. ]

[ There's a bit of a yo-yo effect here, John but he wasn't going to complain too much as those flames appeared in John's room and just like that, Caliban was stepping out of him with a little furrowed brow. He was wearing his usual simple black silk shirt that was naturally open, and a pair of loose equally black silk pants. He seemed to have nailed that cult leader hippy look to a T in his time in the city.

He was just going to settle down on the bed and peer over at John. Not quite sure if he should speak with the mood the other was in. Those dark clouds forming in his mind. ]

[fireshow]

[ When he sees that familiar flame, he sits up in bed and waits for the demon to come closer like he knows he will. When he does - when he makes the bed creak a little with the way he sits down on it, John reaches out with a hand and wraps his fingers around Caliban's arm.

Tugging him in close, he rests his head against the demon's shoulder and sighs a little, eyes falling shut. ]

I'm sorry.

[clayking]

[ The demon moves pretty easily when the other tugged him forward and he easily found his place against the bed. His hand easily moves around the other as that head finds his shoulder. The blond demon just tilted his head down to watch John for a moment, that worried edge to his look not fading for the moment.

But he was just going to wave his fingers to make that room a little darker- letting the lights lower as he shook his head at those words.]

Hush. You have nothing to be sorry about.

[ It's not like he could always understand the ways of mortals but he was trying his best here. ]

Just rest, John.

[fireshow]

[ Sometimes he feels as if he'd only really permanently contracted with Caliban because no one else would be able to put up with the insane amount of whiplash he's capable of putting one through. No matter the number of moods he puts Caliban through, he still stays there with him. Always has. Even when he was asked not to.

Settling in close against him, he sighs, letting his eyes open a little as he just lays there with the demon. ]

The longer I'm here, the more I start to care about people and I hate it sometimes.

[clayking]

[ Sleep wasn't something Caliban really needed- but he enjoyed those moments all the same when he shared a bed with John. The weight of him against him, the intimacy of it all. The closeness he didn't really share with many people. No matter how many souls he might have fucked.

It wasn't the same as this.

A hand just brushed down along the back of the other head as he nodded at those words.]

Even I'm not immune to such effects of that, I fear. I should wish to enslave most mortals and yet...

That fire rather dulled. I think.
